The Indian Youth Economic Association, a non-profit trust was founded by students in New
Delhi in 2012. It has since, promoted economic research and the advancement of economic
knowledge and understanding amongst the youth. It aims to spread economic knowledge
and the results of economic research, encourage the exchange of ideas between the youth
and the application of the results of economic research, support the education and training
of students in economics and to provide resources for young economists in the areas of
education, research, business, industry, government and public policy.
The Indian Youth Economic Association, apart from research, is also heavily invested in youth-based activities such as Debates, Quizzes and academic simulations such as Model UN. A known name amongst the youth of the country, The IYEA has been commended for its work with various Delhi University colleges and schools. The IYEA also conducts training workshops and sessions for schools and colleges for a wide variety of themes, including but not restricted to economics, finance, history, international and domestic politics, career development and counseling, leadership & personality growth and parliamentary debating. The IYEA has a history of strong tie-ups with over 40 esteemed academic and non-academic institutions. The University of Chicago, St. Stephens’ and Hindu Colleges and the Indian Debating Union include some of these partners.
